The Wednesday Journal spilled a little more ink for the Huskies this week, noting the team’s dramatic turnaround from the 2014 campaign.
The Oak Park and River Forest High School boys lacrosse team is 12-4 this season. While that’s a good record by any measure, it is more impressive considering the Huskies finished 4- last spring. On a six-game winning streak, OPRF has won nine of its last 11 games. The Huskies defeated Downers Grove South, 17-13 on May 14, and routed Mount Carmel, 17-2 on May 12, as the team is beginning to develop the look of a state contender.
“We have improved immensely since last year, primarily because of our new offensive coordinator, Joe Opron,” OPRF coach John Terretta said. “Some of the younger guys have a year of experience under their belts, which has also made a difference.”
